Melinda Wolf, LMHC
Hi, my name is Melinda Wolf. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a School Psychologist. My practice is focused on helping adults, adolescents, parents and children cope with anxieties and daily life stressors. My approach to counseling is to create a safe space for both parents and their children. This, in turn will enable my clients to learn strategies to better communicate, express themselves, identify their feelings and build healthy relationships. Together we will focus on anxiety reduction strategies and communication skills to enhance self-awareness around the emotions that so often drive our behaviors.
As emotional awareness increases you will realize that you can choose different responses. Rather than the instantaneous reactions that many of us struggle with, you will be able to respond to situations intentionally and thoughtfully. As you begin to understand the emotional basis of your reactions and choose to change your responses, you can then break negativepatterns of communication and behavior with family, children, partners, colleagues and other people in your life.
My emphasis is addressing the emotional and mental health of the client with the support of the family. My focus is relationship-based. I believe trust and respect for others feelings is the foundation for learning and establishing healthy relationships.
I have worked in the Broward County School System for 15 years as a Family Counselor and School Psychologist. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of South Florida (1991), my Masters in Mental Heath Counseling (1993) from Nova Southeastern University and a Specialist in School Psychology (2008) from Barry University. I am a National Certified Counselor and National Certified School Psychologist.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out, I look forward to working with you and your family.
